Currently, the main developer is Peter Ernst.
The development of W2H received support from several co-workers from
both institutes (and from many users of W2H).
Especially we would like to express our thanks at least to
For graphical outputs, W2H uses some publicly available image converters and libraries. Some of them are included in the W2H distribution for convenience. Plese refer to their README files for acknowledgments and contacts.
Special thanks go to Michael Schmitz, a co-author of the hp2xx converting software for his nice and quick support of the PNG format.
Uploading uses a brilliant Perl modul CGI.pm from Lincoln D. Stein (lstein@genome.wi.mit.edu).
Starting a terminal session doesn't rely on a local telnet application, but uses the Java Telnet Applet by Matthias L. Jugel and Marcus Meißner
The GCG icon is copyrighted by the Genetics Computer Group, Inc. The EGCG icon is used with knowledge of its author - Peter Rice, Sanger Centre, UK. The buttons for the W2H homepage was created using DeWitt Industries Interactive Web Site.
The Simple mode uses a "clock-ticking" window developed (for other projects) by Rodrigo Lopez from EBI.
W2H from version 3.0 is shipped with post-processing scripts making links to SRS. This is due to nice work of Tilman Schmidt-Dannert (genome@dkfz-heidelberg.de) from DKFZ.
The post-processor for highlighting groups in MSF files can be provided with W2H due to the coding efforts of Artjom Tarasenko (genome@dkfz-heidelberg.de). This post-processor also gives access to a patched version of Michele Clamp's JalView (patched to enable saving on the server).
An acknowledgment goes also to GCG for their WPI interface which was a great inspiration for W2H.
